My Objective is to utilise my skills in gait analysis and research for the benefit of amputees and their clinicians.

These roles involved:

Managing the Biomechanics and Gait Laboratory

  • Coordinated the design, construction, relocation and installation of the Biomechanics & Gait Laboratory to a refurbished facility within UNSW
  • Maintained, calibrated and developed protocols for an 8 camera Vicon 612 3-dimensional Motion Analysis System, 3 Kistler force plates, Motion Labs EMG system, Cosmed K4B2 Cardio Pulmonary Exercise Testing
  • Selected, purchased and installed new equipment for the laboratory to increase data capture possibilities and improve safety e.g. Large Kistler force plate for dancers and netballers, SECA scales with incorporated railings for children with cerebral palsy.
  • Facilitated student, staff and clinical bookings and equipment use in the laboratory

Supporting research activities in biomechanics and gait including;

Assisting in the operation of the clinical motion analysis service

  • 3-dimensional gait analysis and EMG data were collected on children with cerebral palsy as part of their surgical planning and follow-up through Sydney Children’s Hospital (SCH) and Children’s Hospital Westmead (CHW).
  • Participated in multi-disciplinary review meetings at SCH
